Plaza + Partners’ design scheme for the Rizal Sports Complex in Manila resulted from combining form and program, breaking down the complex’s structure to carve out spaces for congregation and community activity. This led to the formation of a habitable roofline and urban plazas around the scheme, providing a promenade for both the Manila city government and its people to engage with each other on various occasions.
